HRP Coil (Pickled and Oiled)
Descaled, oiled HRP sheet suitable for bending and deep drawing.
The scale (oxide) layer formed on the surface of hot rolled sheet makes it unsuitable for some applications. In HRP sheet this layer is removed in hydrochloric or sulphuric acid baths, and a protective oil is applied to prevent re-oxidation.
Pickled and oiled sheet is suitable for forming operations such as bending, drawing and deep drawing. It is preferred where strength, rigidity and formability are required but surface quality is not critical.
